Last night, I had, quite arguably, the world’s worst pizza. Think the complete opposite of Jessica Alba’s ass, and you have the pizza. I’ve seen ads for it, got a flyer in the mail for it, so I thought I would try it. Big mistake. I’m sure you’ve seen ads or something for Pizza Hut’s new Double Deep Pizza. It claims to be so overloaded with toppings that they just have to fold over the edge. Nice, in theory.
Let me tell you how the pizza came. First, since they fold the edge over, it’s a smaller pizza. But since they don’t want you to think it’s all that much smaller, they stretch out the dough. Stretching out the dough makes the pie crust thinner, and with the “50% more cheese” and “double toppings,” the slices don’t hold up. Most of the slices broke when pulling them out of the box. Those that didn’t were so thin that they’d break when picking it up.
Not pleased. I think I’m just going to stick with the Stuffed Crust or Pan Pizza. My official Blow It Out Your Pie Hole.com recommendation is to skip the Double Deep Pizza, since it’s not deep, nor is it pleasing.

During my stumbles across the web for an inexpensive host for unlimited domains, I have decided to look at three more closely. Strangely, they all have the word ‘host’ in their names. Each offer unlimited domains, tons of storage space, and lots of goodies for less than a buck a month. Currently, blowitoutyourpiehole.com is hosted at racknebula.com for a whopping 99¢ per month for 100MB. 100MB is enough space for a Wordpress installation and a couple of other applications. Paying yearly, I get two months free. Translating that into the unlimited host world, I would have to find 600MB for $5.94 a month for six hosts to “break even,” or 800MB for $7.93 a month for eight months. Any extra value is a winner.
A couple of things that I’m not looking at here, but they’re pretty moot anyway. All the domains that I host will either be mine, or as a favor to someone. Email accounts will be handled by google apps for domains, so I don’t care how many email accounts the host has. I don’t need any newsletter lists, because between Yahoo!Groups and phplist, hosted newsletters are moot, as long as you have crontab access. I’m only looking at Linux hosting, because, well, let’s face it, Windows hosting sucks.
So let’s take a look at three unlimited domain Linux hosts, my current host, and a free webhost and compare them side by side. This information is taken off their webpages and is believed accurate as of 12/28/07. Read the rest of this entry »

Over the weekend, we visited San Jose’s Christmas In The Park. It was amazing that a California city has anything named “Christmas” anywhere. But then again, the giant Christmas Tree that they had is called the “Community Giving Tree.” Most of the displays showed the multi-cultural influence of the hippies in the state. Not to digress, but I’m so glad the “melting post of culture” that we were supposed to have has turned into a “salad bowl of culture.” I’ll have to write more about that later.
But anyway, is it just me or is there something wrong with this display?

At the end of every year, the hordes of people who know things better than you do come out with their top ten lists. Here at The Hole, the best thing that we can come up with is a list of the most popular posts since I installed the Popularity Contest plugin in October. This rates each post on various criteria, but basically it shows which posts have been seen more than others.
- Blog Action Day
- Here comes $100 oil, and $3 gasoline?
- Google Adds IMAP Support To GMail
- Brave New World
- The Pied Piper of Oakland
- Skylark Apartments
- Global Warming is a Crock
- Pimpin for Birthday Boy’s School
- Halloween
- The BlogRush Cut
Next year, we should be able to have a better list, as we have just installed the PostRatings plugin. Go ahead and give those posts a rating. It’s like instant, anonymous feedback, and next year, we’ll have a top ten list of the best rated posts.

Introducing a new on-line advertising method that’s taking the world by storm. Pay Per Play audio ads. Each time your page is presented to a capable browser, a five second audio ad will play to the reader. Going back to the age of cost per impression, this could be HUGE, and the best thing is that at the time of this writing it is NOT a violation of the AdSense terms of service for a website owner to display both AdSense ads and PPP audio ads. An added benefit is referrals. The PPP plan pays dividends on two levels of referrals.
The system is being verified by a third party for correct advertising bids, and PPP is the only online advertising medium that is verified by an “independent” and unbiased third party. Take a look at what this can offer you: 100% ad conversion, weekly payouts, the ability to place it on all your pages in all your domains, and residual income. Honestly, it’s a no brainer, but get more information and make your own decision.

It’s the moment of the Winter Solstice, the time at which the sun’s equator is directly in line with the Tropic of Capricorn. It’s the time of the shortest day of the year, and the longest night time in the Northern Hemisphere. Common sense tells you that for the past 6-1/2 weeks, the weather has been getting colder, and for the next 6-1/2 weeks, the weather will start to warm up as the sun’s rays become more concentrated on the northern hemisphere until the Summer Solstice, when it all starts diffusing again. In fact, Wikipedia states that “Calendrically, in most countries the time of the winter solstice is considered as midwinter.”
But, oh, no. Not here in the U.S. Some dumbass calendar maker wanted to charge more for his calendars, so he decided to put “Official First Day of Winter” on the date of the Winter Solstice. There’s no “Official First Day of Winter.” There is no federal legislation declaring the seasons. Every kindergartener knows that when it’s getting cold, it’s starting to get on to winter. When it starts warming up and plants start growing, it’s spring. When it’s really hot, it’s summer, and when the weather starts to cool and the leaves fall off the trees, it’s fall.
So, you “news anchor” who does nothing but read from a computer screen with a really sad and concerned tone of voice on the ‘All News and Traffic except the Traffic that I’m in’ station, BLOW IT OUT YOUR PIE HOLE!

Online reports that Jennifer Love Hewitt will not be appearing in Playboy. Now, if you ask me, that’s an utter shame.
I need to post the above copyright notice as I have already had two splogs copy my posts, one about buying a car, and the other about Jessica Alba. If you’re a splogger, you have been warned.

A long, long, time ago, in a county, far, far away—actually it was 3 years ago in the next county over—I was researching my genealogy. Well, it wasn’t actually researching more as I was searching on-line for someone who was “close enough” to the person I was searching that I would add it to my files. I wasn’t checking facts, just adding as quickly as I could find. Then, in the month or so before I moved, the computer I was using for my research stopped working.
So I have started fresh. The primary source of my genealogy was Some Descendants of Justus Harris, by Sydney Mike Gardner. I also have a Pease line, and my uncle has an original copy of A genealogical and historical record of the descendants of John Pease, Sen. by David Pease from over 100 years ago. I looked through it for a while, and sent it back to him before I moved. Anyway, with the Harris book, I am going back through it to create a gedcom with all the original sources. I guess I can just make all the sources to be Some Descendants of Justus Harris, by Sydney Mike Gardner, but that would probably be defeating the purpose.
Sydney Mike, if you’re out there, or if you’re someone else with a transcription of the book, please contact me. I would like to have a gedcom of the book, and only the book, completely separate from anything else. I have started fresh, but it’s going to take some time for my current genealogy to make it back to where it was, back in the heyday of not caring if it’s accurate. One thing I look forward to is getting actual sources that say that I am the fifth-cousin of James “Wild Bill” Butler Hickock six-times removed. Maybe it was sixth-cousin five-times removed. That’s why I need to research it again.

So we were talking today about places to go for lunch, and I started thinking about Bella Roma Pizza. All I really remember about the first couple of times that I went there was ‘Good Atmosphere.’ They had a Mighty Wurlitzer, and that was all I remember. Watching the train go around the track during Chattanooga Choo Choo and watching all the other percussion instruments clack around.
Back in April, we journeyed over to find they were closed. All Gone! Bastards closed up and didn’t tell me. I found out, somewhere on the blogosphere that they were moving somewhere downtown. In the meanwhile, I think it was in October, I called their phone number, (925) 228-4935, and the OGM on the answering machine said that they would be opening no later than November. Today, the OGM says “We’ll be opening shortly next week, any time.”
We’ll See. In the meanwhile, since I’ve been deprived of the Wurlitzer, they can BLOW IT OUT THEIR PIE HOLE!
