So today, in the US, March 20, people are “celebrating” the First Day of Spring. Whoopie. The vernal equinox is not the first day of spring. Some dumbass calendar maker put that on a calendar long ago and it stuck. Spring begins when it stops being winter. In California, that happened in the middle of January.
